Presenting My Nile Journey at the Socio-Hydrology Conference in Tokyo

In July 2025, I had the honor of presenting my long-term project The Nile Journey at the 2nd Socio-Hydrology Conference at The University of Tokyo. Over three days, meeting with researchers, scientists, and engineers from around the world to exchange ideas on water challenges and solutions.

As the only artist in the room, I shared not only photographs but also the stories of people, landscapes, rituals, and species along the Nile, from its sources to Qursaya Island in Cairo. This presentation in collaboration with Dr. Emanuele Fantini, reflected years of research and storytelling, weaving together voices of communities, researchers, and artists connected to the river since 2017.
